Ivory Palaces

My Lord has garments so wondrous fine,
And myrrh their texture fills;
Its fragrance reached to this heart of mine
With joy my being thrills.

Out of the ivory palaces,
Into a world of woe,
Only His great eternal love
Made my Savior go.

His life had also its sorrows sore,
For aloes had a part;
And when I think of the cross He bore,
My eyes with teardrops start.

Out of the ivory palaces,
Into a world of woe,
Only His great eternal love
Made my Savior go.

His garments too were in cassia dipped,
With healing in a touch;
Each time my feet in some sin have slipped,
He took me from its clutch.

Out of the ivory palaces,
Into a world of woe,
Only His great eternal love
Made my Savior go.

In garments glorious He will come,
To open wide the door;
And I shall enter my heav’nly home,
To dwell forevermore.

Out of the ivory palaces,
Into a world of woe,
Only His great eternal love
Made my Savior go.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Welcome to the week to stop time and revel in the Savior’s work. The most wonderful time of the year.  All around the world, marketing companies and consumer product businesses are working their hardest to convince us that the birth of the Savior is best expressed by pink plastic doll houses, the latest Madden game, and designer basketball shoes. No, the best way to express the birth of the Savior is in one sentence:

But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

The fullness of the time: the appropriate time, the appointed time, the designated time. Eternity spun into days, months, hours, years. Logos descending into Time. Read more

Abundant Greetings

“And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.”

And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written.”

“Then said Jesus unto the twelve, ‘Will ye also go away?’ Then Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Our family’s prayer being that all your plans and preparations  draw you to Him and His precious Words of life and that His abundance toward you will inspire loyalty and love for Him and His cause.

Blessed Merry and Holy Christmas!
