Preschool Hours

I was on the edge of my seat, not because State of the Union addresses are particularly gripping, but because our president was calling for better opportunities for our three and four year old children. Was he going to propose the public education system have mandatory courses covering the care, enrichment and education of children? No. Was his plan to pay mothers a living wage to stay home and tutor their own children? No. Was he going to call for the government to provide enrichment books, games, and learning materials at a discounted price for parents? No. Sadly, the proposal was limited to taking children at an even younger age from their homes for mass produced learning and child care, rather than the individualized tutorial and nurturing environment of a real home.

Deflated, I sat back and realized that the best child care would still not be universally available to the toddlers of America. This newest governmental vision fell short of the gold-standard entitlement package the Lord has for His youngest creations.

God’s Preschool Program

His entitlement package for every toddler includes dawn to dusk immersion learning and training  in a rich environment of live music, free-flowing adult speech, and wholesome home-cooked food provided by both male and female live-in professional parents, who are qualified to offer engaging activities, positive emotional bonding, creative experiences, and exemplary moral, educational, behavioral, and spiritual models. Science, history, spiritual immersion, field trips, and  imaginative play, combined with  life skills training in self-control, sustained quiet, self-occupation, cooperative attitudes, and obedient responses, as well as extensive early reading and mathematics exposure are all part of His preschool program.

God’s Preferred Staff

If your pre-school aged loved ones are going to be enrolled in that stellar program, you, mom and dad, will be the one providing it.

When to Start

And the best time to start such a program is long before the clients are coming through the door. A key element of Executive Oversight is time dedicated for lesson planning, brainstorming, and doing the professional reading required for such an extensive, holistic program. If EO is not a solid habit before the preschool need arises, life becomes a bit like dressing while you are running out the door to drive to work: distinct functions, one of which should precede the other, are cobbled together in an alliance too ineffective for either to be done well.

Another key element is having home systems under control, so some portion of every day can be dedicated to preschool hour(s), time not shared with other activities. Another key element is being able to stay home for days at a time without needing adult conversation, lunches out, shopping trips, or “meaningful” work to maintain sanity. Honestly, isn’t conversing with the God of Heaven more erudite than most water cooler talk? And isn’t shaping the destiny of an eternal soul at least as meaningful as 90% of the receptionist-office-retail jobs available?
