Daily Dose 27: The Keys 3: Key Shared Priorities

This is the key that provides some much needed balance to all the talk about differing roles for males and females because somewhere along the biblical teaching line, the nuanced balance point that men, women, and children have a long list of mutually compatible responsibilities to fulfill successfully their biblical home mission was lost in the discussion, leaving only the cavernous divide of the differences in outlook and expectation that has served only to make “understanding” one another seemingly impossible.

The Same Yearnings Lead to Similar Challenges

In baggage-free biblical belief, the yearnings of the biblical man and biblical woman are truly one.

  • Both biblical woman and biblical man yearn to have their thinking transformed.
  • Both biblical man and biblical woman yearn to possess their vessels in honor.
  • Both biblical woman and biblical man yearn to bow their knees before Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Both biblical man and biblical woman yearn to praise the Lord morning and evening in song to Him.
  • Both biblical woman and biblical man yearn to call out to the Lord, confident they will be heard.
  • Both biblical man and biblical woman yearn for souls.
  • Both biblical woman and biblical man yearn to see Christ high and lifted up.

The Same Means of Spiritual Growth Lead to Similarities in Engaging Truth

In baggage-free biblical belief, all the spiritual disciplines for biblical woman and biblical man are truly one.

  • Both biblical man and biblical woman must be personally dependent on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
  • Both biblical man and biblical woman must demonstrate moment by moment obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
  • Both biblical man and biblical woman must immerse themselves in the delights of Scripture.
  • Both biblical man and biblical woman must bury Scripture’s truths deep within their own beings.
  • Both biblical man and biblical woman must know extensive personal conversational communion with the Lord.
  • Both biblical man and biblical woman must nurture hearts throbbing earnestly for others to know God as He is.

The Same Life-Goal Leads to a Similar Outlook

In baggage-free biblical belief, the reason for living for both biblical men and women is truly one.

  • Living only to see God glorified through the lives He sustains, is an equal honor and responsibility for both biblical man and biblical woman.

If every other divine expectation that occupied the attention of men and women, young and old, was mutually exclusive, these spiritual priorities offer more than enough opportunity to build oneness.  Even as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit carry role distinctions within the triune oneness, so God designed His human image reflectors to carry role distinctions that will accurately reflect His full image as they work together.

Titus 2: 3-5 gives women a very actionable treatment for the image-reflecting priorities that is their privilege to shoulder for the Savior. This is the passage around which priority stewardship has been built. While it has grown very familiar to me over the years, it may be the first time you have looked at it as guidance for so much of your daily life. But that is for tomorrow. Today, revel in this privilege of having been given so many directly spiritual priorities to embed in our lives.
